The Project
Clean, Green Energy for all
Killadeer Green Energy Ltd. is proposing a wind energy project with eight wind turbines in the townlands of Killadeer,
Bellaburke, Killawullaun West, and Killavally East. The site is located within an area designated as ‘open for consideration’
for wind energy development in the Mayo County Development Plan (CDP) 2022–2028. The project aims to generate
clean, renewable electricity while supporting Ireland’s climate and energy commitments. The proposed wind farm will
help reduce carbon emissions, strengthen local energy resilience, and deliver longterm environmental benefits for
future generations
Why Wind Energy?
Wind energy is one of the most efficient technologies to generate electricity in a safe and environmentally sustainable way. Ireland faces an extraordinary challenge to move its energy system from one primarily based on fossil fuel to one dominated instead by renewable energy.
Onshore wind energy projects form a key part of the Irish Government’s plan to enhance clean electricity generation, reduce CO2 emissions, meet Ireland’s environmental targets and move towards a more secure energy future.
We believe that wind energy will play a central role in Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy by 2050.
Every time you switch on the TV or boil the kettle, a portion of that power is coming from wind turbines.
